Full Moon in Scorpio 05/2023

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

On May 5th or 6th depending on your time zone we have a powerful Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Scorpio. The peak is at 19:34 pm Central European Time Zone. The beauty of this lunation is that it doubles a penumbral lunar eclipse. A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth blocks some of the sun’s rays from illuminating the moon. As a result, the moon will be covered by the Earth’s shadow, a.k.a. the penumbra. This is the last time that an eclipse will occur in Scorpio until 2031. This Full Moon will stand across the sky from the sun, which, astrologically speaking, will connect both Mercury and Uranus. During an eclipse and the presence of Uranus could bring sudden changes in your life, like pivots, reversals, and endings.

The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. This Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio is all about going with the flow, so stop trying to control the change that comes about. And don’t make radical decisions as you probably won’t have all the info you need to see things clearly. We also have Pluto stationing retrograde since May 1 and this will feel like a wave of heavy energy. It’s recommended to do all the things that help you to stay grounded, prepared, and calm. For example, going out and taking a walk in nature, meditating, practicing yoga, listening to high frequency music e.g. 528 hz or 432 hz will support your self love and inner healing process.

The Taurus-Scorpio polarity deals with the balance between all that is mine (Taurus) and all that is yours (Scorpio). It also emphasizes the concept of form (Taurus) versus transformation (Scorpio). While Taurus deals with matter, personal values, material goods, possessions, and security, Scorpio rules the destruction of form, shared possessions, change, and transformation. The Sun in Taurus encourages happiness with the simple, tangible things in life, while the Scorpio Moon draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and mysteries.

Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of an intimate nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out.

Eclipses are an omen for powerful and unpredictable fated events, so this full moon will have an element of uncertainty as the six-month cycle closes. In the spirit of this eclipse, take note of what comes up three days before and three days after the lunation. Be open to releasing whatever no longer serves your highest good. Eclipses are about being change-adept and choosing appropriate reactions to what occurs. It sets off a huge amount of energy, so stay agile and don’t over-schedule your day or the weekend that follows, as sometimes eclipses hit late.

Use the powerful of the illuminating Full Moon night to your favor, it is the perfect time for rituals, especially let go rituals. It is not recommended to set intentions or start new goals during an eclipse. Instead manifest your achievements which are supporting your let go’s.

Your Full Moon Ritual

Make yourself comfortable and set up your altar in a space where no one disturbs you. Use the following crystals/gemstones tonight: Citrine for strengthening and calming and Fluorite for balancing energies and enhancing your concentration and intuition. Light some candles and burn a joss stick. Sage and Palo Santo are very favorable to neutralize the energies from negativity. Start with a cleansing ritual. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in for 5 seconds, hold them for at least 5 seconds and breathe out fully in 5 seconds. Repeat this 5 times. Now take your workbook or journal and write down 5 things you want to let go. (You can also write more than 5, but it should be at least 5 things you want to release.) When you finish inhale and exhale and burn this piece of paper in a fire resistant jar. Watch the burning process and let it go. Then cleanse again your sacred space with Sage or Palo Santo (or a joss stick) and write down your achievements  which support your letting go. It’s fine when you have not achieved them yet. Close your eyes and visualize your desired outcome.
